  About our new system

Block Vision is pleased to announce the implementation of our new Internet-based computer system, effective April 4, 2005. On this date, there are many changes that you will notice while conducting business with Block Vision.

New Provider IDs

In order to obtain services through our new Provider website and Voice Response Unit (VRU), our new system requires a unique Provider ID and a Location of Service ID. Please note, this is a change from our current system, and unfortunately, your current Provider Number(s) will not be valid.

In order to make the transition to the new system easier, you should have already received a letter that included labels with your new ID numbers. If you have not received this letter, or if you've misplaced it, a Provider ID Lookup Utility will be available on our website on April 4th, 2005. Our Member Services Department will also be able to provide you with your new IDs on that date by contacting us at 1-866-819-4298.

In addition, effective April 4, 2005, all paper-based claims submitted to Block Vision must include your new Provider ID and Location of Service ID in box 33 of the Health Insurance Claim form.

Please don't forget to update your system with your new ID numbers.

Electronic Data Interface

If your organization has an interest in submitting claims data to Block Vision through an EDI exchange, please email us at edi@blockvision.com.

New Provider Website

On April 4, 2005, you will notice significant changes to the look-and-feel of our Provider website. The following are services that Block Vision will offer through our new Provider website:

Download Instruction Manual: ProviderWebManual_040105.pdf

  • Verification of enrollment
  • Authorizations
  • Claims Entry
  • Claims Status
  • Access to Claims History
  • The ability to log in under the same provider number on multiple workstations
  • One time entry of provider number
  • Drop down tables for CPT and ICD9 codes
  • An easier to navigate design, including online instructions
  • Ability to contact and log issues with us via the web.

Again, in order to access these services, you will be required to provide both your Provider ID and Location of Service ID. In addition, with any new system implementation, we realize that there is always room for improvement. Please keep in mind that we will continue to work on and improve the functionality of our new Provider website.

If you submit more than 100 claims per month through our current website and would like additional training, please email us at websitetraining@blockvision.com.

New Voice Response Unit (VRU)

In addition to our new Provider website, we are also bringing a new Voice Response Unit (VRU) system online. To access the new VRU, please call 1-866-819-4298. The new VRU will include the following functionality:
  • Ability to verify enrollment
  • Date of eligibility is now date of service sensitive
  • Authorizations
  • Claims Status
  • Ability to record your own name for members to hear
  • Support for those who speak Spanish

The Block Vision team is looking forward to the implementation of our new system. We are eager to offer our valued providers with the new system functions and feel that its capabilities will enhance your interactions with Block.
